Such a beautiful polychromatic plate featuring two striking blue and yellow birds  in nature, surrounded by flowers. It is signed by the artist G Vernier (just to the left of the log) he was a well known period illustrator for French decorative ironstone tableware.
 
The stamp on the back shows it was purchased in one of the grand Parisian homeware stores of the Haussmann era on rue Turbigo, Paris.
 
There is light crazing and some minor signs from use but no chips or cracks.
 
The plate measures just over 9.5" in diameter
