Terms and Conditions

Items' condition

Quintessentially French Brocante only sells pre-loved vintage and antique 'timeworn treasures'. These may show signs of wear and usage which are part of their charm, they show the item's past and passage of time, making each product unique.

We do not restore or remove patina, which is an integral part of the item's story. We do however gently clean to a reasonable state for you to receive your purchaseWooden and wicker objects will have been treated for wood worm before entering my home and yours.

All measurements are approximate.

Please make sure you are happy with the condition by checking the description and images  and asking any questions in advance of purchasing.

Shipping

Combined shipping is added at the checkout, based on weight and destination. If you order several items, they may be sent in more than one parcel. You have the choice between Economy Uninsured Against Loss in Transit and Standard Insured Against Loss in Transit shipping.

If I can ship more economically, you will refunded any difference. Shipping outside Europe is by air freight, it you would like to upgrade shipping or need your order quickly, please contact me. Expediated shipping via DHL Express can be arranged if required.

Some orders may take up to 7 working days to dispatch, depending on the location of the items in your order, this is because Quintessentially French is based between two locations; Paris and the Normandy countryside. I pack all orders personally so if I am away sourcing new antiques and during holiday periods, shipping may be delayed.

Discounts

If an item is already discounted on the website a further reduction in the form of a voucher code cannot be applied to the same item. If you wish to apply a discount code to a mixed cart, please contact me.

Returns

We do not normally accept returns, unless an item is damaged in transit but are here to help at every stage of the process. Our priority is that you are happy with your complete experience with Quintessentially French Brocante.

Parcels require a signature on arrival, if you are not home the courrier will take it to a depot for collection. If a parcel is not collected, it is usually returned to me. Should you wish it to be reposted to you, the shipping will need to be paid again. Should you wish a refund, that will be made less the original shipping charge, packaging costs and a 10% handling fee.

Please note some carriers charge the same rate as the original shipping to return your parcel.

You are sent tracking details when your order is dispatched so you can see its progress to you. Please check for this email and that it has not gone to your spam box.

Customs Duties and Tariffs

All local customs duties and tariffs charged on internationally shipped items on arrival in destination country are the buyer's responsibility and beyond the control of Quintessentially French. Please check the latest regulations for your country as refunds on returned orders, if you have refused delivery, will be made only on the parcel's safe return, less original shipping cost, packaging costs & return parcel charges (equal to outward shipping cost).

How did we do?

We thank you for your feedback and the many compliments we have received, which helps us improve our business and urge you to contact us without delay if there is a problem, so that we can resolve it together.

Quintessentially French Brocante reserves the right to cancel any order that breaches its terms and conditions.

General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR)

Items offered for sale in the European market are expected to comply with GPSR regulations.

Quintessentially French specialises in pre-loved vintage and antique collectible pieces. As a result, detailed information about their origin, composition, or materials is not available. Many of these items were manufactured by companies that no longer exist, this and their age means they may not meet current safety standards. This does not necessarily make them unsafe, just manufactured in a different era.

Any relevant GPSR compliance information we possess will be included in the product listing. However, in general, all items should be treated as decorative or collectible.

If it is intended to use an item for purposes other than part of a collection and display, reconditioning may be necessary.

All electrical items, such as lighting, are made for French homes and must be inspected and reconditioned as necessary by an electrician before use.
