A charming hand coloured ornate ormolu and bevelled glass souvenir jewel box featuring a hand coloured picture of the first Trocadero.
 
 Built for the 1878 Exposition Universelle, this was probably brought home and treasured as a souvenir from a visit to this exhibition. 
 
It is in good condition for its nearly 150 years of age. It has its original green padded silk cushion which is a little threadbare from use and on the right side there are two chips (which are not sharp) from a past accidental slip.
