An outstanding large Art Nouveau water pitcher featuring a stylised attractive water plant rodgersia in pink transferware. It is perfect for displaying large flowers and is a wonderful statement piece, full of French elegance.

It was used to bring water upstairs for the lady of the house to wash before the days of internal plumbing and dates from the late 1800s to the early 1900s.

It has one small historic chip on the rim. The pitcher is heavy when filled and you can imagine the maid being in trouble for knocking it against the tap! There are also some firing marks on the inside from the kiln, both pictured.

It stands 11" tall.
