Guirlande tureen by Sarreguemines Digoin is a gorgeous design in the more unusual green colourway, enhanced by patination and crazing from much use with hot soup at the family table. It is in the classic tall style with, of course, delightful scrolled handles on either side of the bowl.

The classic artichoke handle on the lid is very decorative, it has been broken and stuck, as indeed it seems most soupières of a good 120 years use and age. The repair is well done with no losses or chips around it and you have to look hard to see it. There are two chips on the underside of the lid.

It has the model stamp on the base and can be dated to the end of the 19th century to early 20th.

The tureen stands approximately 9.5" tall with the lid and 11" across the handles.

It is indeed a beautiful patinated antique and fits well with other seasonal colours.
