It is so unusual to find a matchstriker with a wooden top, these are among the oldest and most collectible. There was once a textured coating on the top to strike the matches, which has worn away with repeated use in a Paris café.

The striker advertises Dubonnet, as a 'tonic' wine and dates it to the end of the 1800s or the very beginning of the 1900s.

It measures approximately 3" tall and 4" diameter at the base. The wood has irregularities of a natural product, clearly pictured .
