Be still my heart! It jumped when I found this delightful ravier plate, an elegant shell shape in the regal  Louis XV design by JV Bordeaux.
 
Elegantly fluted, it features the symbolic coquille St Jaques shell, acanthus and vine design of Louis XV and has a hand painted edge, this was a high quality piece in its day and as desirable as it is now.
 
The glaze is perfectly crackled and the ironstone lightly patinated.
 
This beauty measures 9.25" long and 5.5" at its widest.
