A striking striker that once sat on a bar filled with matches and advertised the famous French liquor called China-China , first sold in 1812.
 
This larger size pyrogène has done good service but remains in good condition. There are small signs of wear to the writing which remains clear and legible and signs of the matches having been struck on the ridges, this could be further cleaned but I like to leave some signs of its past life.
 
This would sit well with other advertising pieces in your collection and stands 4" tall. It is made of heavy, quality porcelain.
