A gorgeous bird design two handled sucrier or sugar bowl with a lid. One side has a bird eating berries on a blossomed branch and the other has a more formal arrangement in an urn. The lid has two birds in flight on the lid.
There is an old crack on the shoulder, the sort that gives character, on the urn side and crazing and light staining on the lid.
It has an attractive squared shape and on the base an English pottery mark, the date on this is impossible to read. Much English 'china' was imported by the big Parisian home decor stores in the Haussmann era of the 19th century.
The sugar bowl measures 6" high and 6.5" across the handles.
