This is a rare chance to own an authentic French drainer bowl which was used in the French farm dairy where the faisselle, soft cheese, was made. A wonderful piece of history and a lovely way to create, perhaps, a herb garden in the kitchen.
 
The curds were put into these 6 round molds with the holes to drain the whey which were then placed on the bowl, the whey passed into the bowl and could be poured off using the spout.
 
Both the bowl and the molds are very timeworn and chippy from years of use in the Farmhouse dairy. 
 
The bowl measures 13" diameter and the faiselle molds 3" tall by around 4" diameter, they are handmade, slightly different sizes.
