A beautifully designed sepia brown transferware raised serving plate with a delightful bird design, called Messanges by HB&C, signed with an individual stamp created for this range, which reflects the leaf design .
 
It is also stamped 'Terre de Fer' the French for ironstone.
 
There is a small old fine crack on the rim and the plate and some light 'tea' staining on the front, more marked staining underneath and crackling. It measures 9" by 1.75" high
 
The raised plate can be confidently dated from the 19th century and certifiable for customs purposes
