A set of three leather bound characterful books from the 18th century. They have patination from age and use, the covers have a wonderfully deep colour, the pages are sepia tinted. They have gold embossing, on the spines and a reddish colour to the outside of the pages.
There are two works by Racine and then a history book. They date from 1751, 1755 and 1781
All the books have signs of age and some damage from age and reading, missing pages, rips, bent over paged and the one Racine has damage to the base of the spine.
They remain utterly charming.
They measure 6" by 3.5"
