A very special Parisian find, a beautiful and elegantly timeworn sugar bowl by Sarreguemines.

The intricate transferware design is delightful and the Sarreguemines stamp on the base dates it back to the last quarter of the 1800s.

It is enhanced by delicate patinatination and has all the character of age and use that one would expect of a well used peice of a tea service of this afe. It is lightly crazed, more so on the inside with delicate 'tea staining'. The handles are intact and have minor rubbing and fleabites on the tips.

The lid has been dropped at some stage leading to small hairlines and some edge chips, pictured.

It remains a delightful and rare piece of French ironstone transferware.

The sugar boel leasures 5" high and 9" across the handles
