A pyrogène or match striker produced by the famous company 'Lions de Faïence" etablished in 1761 which had a large shop in the prime location in Paris, Rue de Rivoli. It has beautiful graphics and a lovely shade of blue at the middle, the ridges where the matches were struck have been well cleaned.
 
It draws peoples attention to the diner services that they produced and sold as the Parisian market for elegant home decor expanded for the new households of the Haussmann era in France (the last quarter of the 1800s)
 
The matchstriker measures 3.5" high and wide at the base. It is in very good condition.
