A gorgeous small and beautifully crafted gilded frame from a Parisian family home. It dates from the second half of the 1800s. The gilding is clear, bright and original.
 
The bow is intricate and beautifully formed, the frame has subtle ribbon detail, the glass is intact and it stands well on its stand. The quaity is shown by the bronze coloured metal backing plate. The backing paper is probably not original but in keeping with the era of the frame.
