Two pairs of books from the 1700s, leather bound, the spines are gold embossed with flowers and the title. They are old and full of character. They have been read and are timeworn, as is to be expected of books of which the youngest is over 250 years old!

 

The edges of the pages are red, a light well used red.

 

Set 1 has two books, one from 1770 and the other 1768, which has been signed on the frontspiece by the Marquis de Ferrière 

Set 2 date from 1754 and 1766 

They measure 7" by 4"

 

Condition: 

All the books show signs of wear and age including losses to the leather binding, each pair has one book with an area missing at the back on a corner. The leather is worn and patinated and there is a small split at the top of one spine in set 2. 

Inside they have marbeled paper,  in set 1, one piece is missing. Expect to find wear to the pages of each book. More photographs can be sent, just send a message.
