A delightful signed French oil painting featuring a bouquet of wildflowers arranged in a traditional pewter measure which blends into the background, allowing the blooms to take centre stage.
 
The painting is in an impressionistic style, a perfect informality for meadow flowers.
 
The frame appears to be original, it has a weathered mottled gold effect with a painted sage green interior bevel. The paint on the frame is timeworn with some losses, adding a vintage appeal to the whole painting. It is believed to date to the mid 20th century.
 
The painting is on board, this has bowed a little but has been firmly fixed in the frame and they look great together. There are a few losses and areas of wear on the painting, but due to the style, it is not very apparent.
 
The painting measures 16" by 10.5" and the frame 20" by 14.5"
