A particularly elegant ironstone compote with floral decorations in sepia transferware on a particularly delightful fluted pedestal by JV Bordeaux.
 
The sepia colour is enhanced by the butterey patination the ironstone has developped with much use in a French home.
 
Dating from the early Haussmann era, around 1880, it is in very good condition for its age.
