A gorgeous pair of hand coloured polychromatic bird small dishes or saucers from French manufacturers Pexonne. They date from the 19th century and are delightful in the details.
Designed in the style of the 18th century Rocaille movement in the time of Louis XV, they feature natural colourful images and the first in particular has a flourishing scroll, a typical motif of grand Roccaille style.
Both are stamped on the reverse. The first as some gentle signs of age, the second has some glaze chips on the face of the plate which are not structural, pictured.
They measure just under 5" in diameter
You are purchasing both saucers together.
