Intricately patterned, they were used as centre pieces filled with plants or flowers. 
 
This mini jardinère is beautifully decorated with the floral and flowing ornate motifs that are classic Empire style (last quarter of the 1800s) 
 
4" wide by 1.75" tall to the top of the handle. Please note, one leg has become tarnished, shown clearly in the picture.
