A beautiful majolica ware hand painted French asparagus plate. Colourful but in subtle tones, it has soft pink dimples for holding sauce and a very Art Nouveau leaf design in teal to separate the sauce from the purple asparagus.
 
The plate dates from around 1880 - 1890 and has a lovely depth of colour enhanced with gentle aging. 
 
It measures 10” diameter.
