Who doesn't love a bit of gold in the boudoir? This box is covered in red and gold abstract floral fabric, believed to date from the 1920s to 1930s. Around the edge are four rows of gold thread passementerie and the box is gold coloured card and is 8" in diameter and  1.5" high

The fabric may require a gentle clean, but is still has a bit of a golden glimmer around the edge. There is minor fraying of the passementerie and there is a little hole in the fabric on the top which I have shown in close up. Inside there is grey staining, almost like graphite marking, perhaps it has been used for storing artists materials?

One of three old Parisian fabric covered boudoir boxes currently available on Quitessentially French, pictured together in the last image. These older boxes are increasingly hard to find so I am happy to be able to bring you a small stack!

The boxes could have been used for sewing materials, accessories, letters or amy manner of necessities for a French lady in the olden days, perfect for storage as well as styling today. All show wear from use and age, more photographs are availble on request. They have not been cleaned or restored in any way and come in as found condition.
