Trouville was a very upmarket resort in the 19th century, Parisians flocked there for summer by the sea.
These heavy porcelain brûlot cups were more often used in Parisian cafes but added a touch of Parisian charm to this seaside cafe, Lanfant, as it is stamped on the base.
Traditionally, when the coffee was drunk, the cup would be turned upside down and a shot of eau de vie poured in the dimple.
It is in good antique condition with a chip on the base and a gap at the handle which appears to be a manufacturing fault. it is 3" tall.
