A simply elegant white ironstone pitcher with a voluptuous or maybe rounded belly, wide pouring spout which is tastefully elevated by a lovely detailing around the handle. It is useful for flowers from a collected hedgerow posy to a smart Parisian style bouquet.
Collectors will note the stamp on the base, the Parisian favourite maker Creil et Montereau, marks this as an early piece which dates from 1840.
It has been looked after carefully and is in good antique condition with only a scrape on one side of the lip.
It stands 7" tall.
