A very rare find, a heavy weight ironstone confiture pot, dating from the 1880s with a rare addition.
As well as the most glorious patterning of 'tea staining' around the pot it has the remnants of the original confiture label. It is an orchard, maybe an apricot tree. I love how this pot, an already unusual find, is now rarer with the patina and the label. A great addition to your collection.
On the base is the Creil et Montereau stamp which dates the pot from the 19th century. It stands just over 4" tall.
