A collection of French metal agricultural show plaques dating from the last quarter of the 20th century. They were awarded to prize winning animals in their classes, and I particularly like the way the cows are classified by how many milk teeth they have!
 
All plaques show wear and tear, they were usually hung outside the barn and literally weathered. 
 
Some plaques have the manufacturers details still visible on the reverse.
 
The larger plaques are approximately 9.5" by 5.5" and the smaller 7.5" by 5" but they vary.
