UNESCO heritage site Mont St Michel has always been a popular destination in Normandy, even before its preservation status, and this ormolu and thick bevelled glass trinket box is a treasured souvenir.
 
The jewel box is in the Napoleon III style but may be a little later, probably turn of the century. It has the characteristic very thick glass and intricate detailing on the gilded metal of a 100 year plus antique. It has a red velvet cushion to hold your favourite treasure.
 
There is a chip in the glass on one side, clearly shown, but the box remains stable, useable and beautiful.
