Dating from the 1880/1890s this beautiful pattern, Glaïel or Gladioli in an inky teal blue is a perfect shape and size for planting spring bulbs.
 
With a wide base, the tureen is very stable. The inside is heavily patinated, with small areas of aging on the outside and there is a very small hairline at the rim.
 
It measures 5" tall and 11" in diameter across the handles. It has the classic Gien coat of arms stamp on the base.
