Fresh from the fleamarkets of Paris, these mid 1800s ormolu (gilded metal) cache clous are a good size and have the perfect patina,  not too shiny and showing the depth of colour of their age!
 
They are heavier weight than many, making them clearly from an upmarket maker and from a smart Parisian home, where they were used to pop over the nail used to hang a picture in the French style. An elegant embelishment and a lovely display item today.
 
They are for sale individually and measure 3" long and 2" across the widest part.
