This French ironstone soupière or tureen is so elegant that it had to be included in my brocante emporium!
 
I was particularly taken by the uplifting mid blue of the exquisite transferware pattern, the French elegance of the design in echoed in the maker's stamp on the base which dates it to between 1880 and the turn of the century. 
 
It is in very good condition with only minor signs of wear and measures 12" wide across the handles, 9" across the opening and 9" high.
