A beautiful pair of plates, each a different image,  but both with two sweet blue birds in a country setting, among foliage and flowers. The plates are fluted at the edges which adds elegance.
 
These Gien plates date from 1875 and are the larger diner plate size measuring 10" across, unusually larger for the late 19th century. 
 
They have some light crazing from age and the one has some classic ironsone staining
