Beautiful blue birds adorn these ironstone plates dating back to the 1870s . They look fabulous on display, particularly  as part of a plate wall.
 
There are two different charming bird designs, each pair of consists of one of each design of charming focks of birds, sitting on a bough, soaring across the sky or surrounded by flowers and plants.
 
The plates have been well used and have signs of their age and wear, including crazing and some light 'tea' staining. To many people, including me, this makes them more attractive as every mark is part of a story to tell.
