French souvenir box from a picturesque town just outside Paris famous in the early 1900s for its boating lake and casino, a destination for Parisians out side the city. These boxes were as collectible back in the 19th century as they are today. A history of a person's travels.

 

The box is square with a hand coloured photograph of the casino and lake, an oromlu (gilded) frame and a red silk cushion in good condition. The hinge and glasp work well and the ornate legs are firm. overall in vary good condition for its age.

 

The box measures just over 2" by 2" and is just under 3" tall with the legs.
