This antique plate has a beautiful floral motif with among others, colombines, poppies and foliage. Around the rim is ornate scroll work.
 
Both sides have developed a delightful warm "tea stained" patina, with some wear to the plate from use over such a long period. This patterning makes the plate a unique antique. There are no chips or cracks.
 
The maker's mark on the base, Boulanger & co from the famous faïencerie at Choisy-le-Roy just outside Paris, dates this to 1878. The pattern is "Floreal"
 
The plate measures 9" in diameter. This is French dinner plate size.
