Transport yourself back to an era of sophisticated shopping, probably with a lady's maid, at the grand Paris stores. 
 
Swishing through the glamorous counters of stylish Parisian products, choosing your purchases which were packaged up in browm paper and tied with string. These thick cardboard and metal handles were slipped over the string to make carrying easier.  
 
They did of course advertise the store and it is wondeful that these were collected as mementos of an exciting day out.
 
There is one particularly rare design marked 'Galleries Lafayette Paris' and the others are marked 'Palais du Vêtement'  or Palace of Clothes.
