An uncommon and very decorative design of Parisian café brulot cups, I imagine they were designed for a very up market Parisian café to compliment their decor.
From the 1800s. They hace a wonderful winter berry coloured pattern with subtle gold accents on both the cup and saucer, completely enchanting.
The brûlot cups are made of thick, heavyweight porcelain and have a dimple in the base, traditionally the cup was turned upside down for a shot of eau de vie once the coffee had been drunk.
The cups are in good useable condition but with some loss of the red pattern around the rim (these are not chips in the porcelain) and there is also rubbing to the gilding from use.
The cups are for sale individually with combined shipping for the two.
They are 3" in height and diameter and the saucer is 5" in diam
