If you love your ironstone to show its history and favour the Quintessentially French timeworn  style, I hope you will love this as much as I do!

The raised serving plate, perfect for cake, features a light blue lily of the valley design. Posies of these flowers called muget in France are traditionally given on May Day for good luck or 'bonheur" in France and hold a great deal of symbilism for the French.

The plate is a lighter blue than it appears on my screen, a light mid blue, with patina staining and extensive crazing.

The stamp on the base is interesting as it shows the plate was made specifically for Emile Bourgeois's famous store founded in 1862 in Rue Drouot in Paris, it was a 'Grand Depot" for dinnerware. Its exclusivity meant it quickly became a market leader in Paris, popular with chic Parisian households as he sold products made to his specific designs.

The plate is 9" in diameter and 2" high
