I love the French tradition of using knife or cutlery rests 'porte couteaux' when dining, it always makes a meal feel so special, and is practical, keeping the table clean. Traditionally there is one per person, but they are lovely used for serving spoons at dinner or jam spoons for an elegant afternoon tea.
 
These knife rests with lovely multi faceted ends to catch the light are particularly lovely and are being sold in pairs. They look particularly special in candlelight and are an elegant  'date night' favourite!
 
They are 4" long and show some signs of age and use with some minor nibbles at the edges.
