These elegant antique ormolu treasures were designed to hold metal curtain poles in a very traditional French style.

They have a delightful rose pattern, so often seen in French Antiques from the 1800s

Ormolu, gilded bronze, was the design of choice in French 'Bon chic, bon genre' homes and these would have been installed in a grand home. They are of good quality and well cast. I have only gently cleaned not polished so the patina is intact, leaving the choice to polish or not to you.

They are pretty enough to use as antique French decor curios, indeed they have been catching the light as they gleam and lots of attention in my atelier.

The supports slide over a protruding short pole which was no doubt left in place in the wall when these were removed. So to use them for their intended purpose would require wall mountings.

Please look at the photographs to see the condition if you wish to remount them, one has a little damage to the shaft.

They protrude 6.25" or 16cm and are 9" 23cm high.

All Quintessentially French items are vintage or antique, they are old and characterful and show wear consistent with their age and from being used. To most people, this is the quintessence of their charm.
