These are my favourite style of Quintessentially French crocks!
Dating from between 1884 to the early 1900s, as is confirmed by the maker's stamp on the base, it appears a light mushroom colour as the creamy neutral ironstone has aged, leaving intricate patterns.
The glaze remains shiny and there is the classic Creil et Montereau stamp on the base. It measures 5" tall and is 4" in diameter.
They are useful for storage and display, of course flowers look fabulous in them, but to me they are beautiful as an object in their own right.
